Managing Products, Projects & Customer Expectations

When you have a long list of possible products, it can be difficult to understand which one’s customers really want and deserve your highest development priority. Giving yourself a leg up can be as simple as: working with those who want to see you grow, understanding their immediate and long-term needs, and then building thoughtful springboards for your Development Team to turn those needs into realities.

The Challenge:

Categorize a long list of potential product concepts based on customer types, aspirations, and anticipated value

The Outcome:

A ranked list of potential deliverables clarifying external requirements and justifying internal efforts

The Impact:

Forward momentum on key product opportunities, addressing the highest potential for increasing Customer Lifetime Value first

My Process:

Identifying target customers.

Beginning with a broad exploration of the whole market and general consumer needs, then narrowing scope as customers with the greatest need and strongest fit are identified

Connecting values, needs, and timing.

Delving into the current state of things, the preferred state, and the ideal future state; discussing systems and processes that work well, and opportunities for digital integration

Detailing out ranked summaries.

Breaking the original big concepts into smaller goals ranked according to customer insights, then working with department leaders and cross-functional teams working in tandem to bring revenue-driving ideas to life
